Myrtaceae Winery is a small, family-owned vineyard in the Main Ridge area of Red Hill, established in 1984 by owners John and Julie Trueman. Sitting at the highest elevation of any winery on the Mornington Peninsula, the 3.5-acre single estate produces less than 5,000 bottles per vintage across Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and rosé, all grown, made and bottled on site. Julie oversees winemaking, fermenting the fruit in French oak with minimal intervention, while John manages the vineyard and its Scott Henry trellis system, with grapes hand-picked over a series of autumn vintage days. The cellar door, open to visitors most weekends since 2004, is set within a small picturesque valley surrounded by ever-growing gardens, and doubles as a showcase for the couple's collection of Art Deco finds. Tastings are conducted in Riedel glassware.
