Peninsula Organic Farmgate is an organic-only independent produce store in Baxter Village, closely affiliated with grower Peninsula Fresh Organics, one of Australia's largest producers of certified organic vegetables, with farms at Baxter, Victoria and Barham, New South Wales. The majority of vegetables sold at the farmgate are grown on the Peninsula Fresh Organics farms, supplemented by a wide range of certified organic and biodynamic groceries and other fresh produce sourced locally where possible and from interstate when needed, including tropical fruit such as bananas, mangoes and dragonfruit. The store also stocks stock from other local makers, such as Zeally Bay sourdough. Peninsula Organic Farmgate offers in-store shopping as well as online ordering with pickup available at the Baxter store, and also trades at Dandenong Market. Open Wednesday to Saturday, it's a straightforward destination for locals and Peninsula visitors wanting a trolley of certified organic groceries and vegetables.
