Ed's Hastings runs an entirely gluten-free food menu, built around a signature 4flour fried chicken developed after a long search for a bun that could satisfy every burger eater without compromising on taste. Every dish is made in-house using ingredients from local suppliers, giving the kitchen a genuinely from-scratch approach rather than relying on packaged gluten-free substitutes. A display fridge is filled daily with house-made take-home meals, from noodle salad and frittata to lasagne and vegan fried rice, alongside a changing dessert selection made fresh in-house. The specials board changes constantly, running from Parma night on Thursdays to surprise $10 wing or fried chicken deals announced with little notice, and Sundays typically bring a roast or seafood special across one to three courses. Coffee comes from Little Rebel, a roastery just over the hill in Dromana, while the beer, cider and wine list favours small independent producers and changes regularly with new arrivals. Ed's trades Tuesday to Sunday from midday to 8pm, closing slightly earlier on Sundays, giving coeliac diners and anyone avoiding gluten a full bar and restaurant menu built entirely around them. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, and the venue is set up for both casual walk-ins and small group bookings.
