400 Gradi Mornington brings Johnny Di Francesco's Neapolitan pizza to the corner of Main Street and Queen Street, in the heart of Mornington.
Johnny opened the first 400 Gradi in Brunswick in 2008, after making pizza since the age of 12. His margherita was named the World's Best Pizza in 2014, and 400 Gradi was named Best Pizzeria in Oceania three years running, in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Johnny was the first Australian inducted into the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana), the Naples-based association that sets the rules for true Neapolitan pizza, and he now serves as its Principal of Australasia. He is also a Guinness World Record breaker.
The name means "400 degrees" in Italian, and the menu centres on Neapolitan-style pizza with Italian dishes alongside. Margherita Mondays offer a set-price margherita at the Mornington venue, and 400 Gradi also runs pizza degustation events for those who want to taste across the menu.
400 Gradi Mornington is open seven days, with later hours on Friday and Saturday nights.
