The Wicked Spud is based on the Mornington Peninsula and built its business around a single, well-executed idea: baked potatoes, cooked fresh and slow in a distinctive King Edward potato baking oven. Ten different seasonings sit alongside bacon, cheese and sour cream toppings, giving each potato genuine choice across ten different combinations. The menu's other signature is the Potato Twister, a locally grown potato handcrafted onto a bamboo skewer in its distinctive spiral shape, dipped in a proprietary batter, fried in pure cottonseed oil and finished with a dusting of secret spices. Gourmet potato and sweet potato wedges round out the range, with more than ten seasoning options running from sour cream and sweet chilli to red wine gravy and spring onions. All potatoes are sourced directly from Red Gem Growers and Packers, selected to a specific size for consistency between twisters and baked spuds. The business is fully mobile, travelling to weddings, birthdays, engagements, corporate functions, markets, fetes and festivals across Victoria, and gluten-free options are available on request for guests with dietary needs. The business has supplied major clients including Aluminium Industries and industry partners in potato supply, working with the same Peninsula-grown produce for close to fourteen years.
