Description

The Deck occupies the heritage-listed building that once housed Frankston's post office, on the corner of Davey Street and Nepean Highway. The two-storey building's original facade was restored, while the rooftop was redeveloped into a bar looking out over Oliver's Hill, the Frankston foreshore and Port Phillip Bay. Trading Tuesday to Sunday from midday, the venue runs a pub menu built on gourmet meals and share plates, with a Saturday and Sunday boozy brunch alongside daily specials from the kitchen. Cocktails are handled by dedicated mixologists, and the wine list draws on Peninsula producers including Foxeys Hangout, Crittenden Estate and Dromana Estate. Live rock bands, acoustic artists and DJs feature through the week, giving the venue an entertainment lineup beyond a standard bar roster. Multiple function spaces are available for private events, and an open fireplace keeps the interior warm through the cooler months. The Deck has run since 2013 as a genuine day-to-night destination, suited to a lazy lunch, an after-work drink or a Sunday session with a view. Wheelchair access and outdoor seating round out the practical details, and the venue sits within easy walking distance of the Kananook walking trail and Frankston station, with credit cards accepted and free wifi available throughout.
