Hickinbotham of Dromana is a family-run winery on the Nepean Highway in Dromana, established in 1988 by Andrew and Terryn Hickinbotham. The Hickinbotham name has been associated with Australian winemaking since 1936, with the family playing an early role in the scientific development of Australian wine production. Wines are grown, made and bottled on site under winemaker James Janda, covering Mornington Peninsula cool-climate varieties including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The property is also home to the Hix Microbrewery, established in 2006, producing award-winning beers such as pilsner, pale ale, brown ale and an Irish stout. The onsite restaurant, set within a rustic space with a cobbled brick floor and open fireplace, serves a seasonal menu built around herbs and vegetables grown on the property. Hickinbotham hosts live music and events and caters for weddings and private functions, open Wednesday to Sunday.
