The Lord Raglan Hotel began as an original neighbourhood pub in the Redfern and Alexandria streets before Rocks Brewing Co rescued it from dereliction and rebuilt it into a haven for craft beer. Sixteen taps pour a genuinely broad range of craft beer, served across a long, comfortable bar that opens from midday. The kitchen runs small share plates and classic pub meals, including chicken schnitzel, veggie burgers, Tasmanian grass-fed sirloin steak, pork or chicken souvlaki and fish of the day, backed by weekly specials like $18 schnitzels on Mondays and $12 chicken wings on Tuesdays. Beyond the daytime pub crowd, the Raglan has built a second life as a nightlife venue, known affectionately as just the Raglan, hosting club nights and electronic music sets that have drawn local acts like Set Mo and Motez alongside international names such as Peggy Gou and Amelie Lens. The venue balances both identities across the week, running as a relaxed local for a beer and a feed by day before shifting into a well-known local dance floor by night. Pinball machines sit alongside the long bar for anyone wanting something to do between rounds, and the wine list and cocktail menu give non-beer drinkers plenty of options too.
