Description
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar has traded on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach since 2016, putting a modern twist on Asian street food behind a deliberately unassuming façade. Inside, neon signage, graffiti art and a curved bar set a vibrant, alleyway-inspired tone, with booth seating and a spacious alfresco garden under a hanging umbrella installation that opens up in warmer months. Backed by hospitality figure Scott Imlach alongside chef Jon Hizola and manager Toby Young, the kitchen serves punchy small plates and share dishes spanning Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Malay and Chinese influences, from raw bar selections and Thai-style ceviche to sugar cane prawns and whole tempura fish. The bar carries a broad list of cocktails, wine and local and imported beer to match the menu's bold flavours. Live music runs in the garden on Sunday afternoons, and the venue caters to both intimate dinners and larger group bookings.
