Description
Door Knock sits in the basement at 70 Pitt Street, reached by descending a long, dimly lit hallway into the heart of Sydney's CBD. Now under owner John Grace, who also runs sister bar Uncle Ming's, the venue has settled into a Parisian neighbourhood bar concept, pairing a progressive cocktail list with a wine selection weighted towards biodynamic and natural producers. The food menu keeps things simple and affordable, running to dishes such as miso eggplant with puffed wild rice and macaroni and cheese croquettes with hot English mustard. A private dining room caters to groups of up to fourteen, with the full venue available for daytime hire before 3pm. It's a fitting escape from the bustle of the street above, whether for a quiet weeknight glass or a livelier evening among friends.
