DOC Pizza & Mozzarella Bar brought the well-known Melbourne pizzeria group to Sydney for the first time, opening on Campbell Street in Surry Hills with long-standing DOC restaurant manager Andrea Colosimo relocating to oversee the launch. The restaurant specialises in DOC's traditional Neapolitan-style pizza, built on an 80 per cent white and 20 per cent wholemeal flour dough given a slow rise over four days, topped with imported Italian ingredients displayed on a map so guests can trace each product's origin. Signature dishes include the Pizza San Daniele and Pizza ai Porcini, made with wild mushrooms, mozzarella and pecorino, finished with a splash of Chianti truffle oil. The mozzarella bar and wine list, weighted towards Italian and natural producers, round out a menu built for sharing in the venue's long, narrow dining room. It's a straightforward, no-bookings-needed option for genuine Italian pizza in the heart of Surry Hills.
