Yugen Tea Bar, known as YTB, is a relaxed Asian-inspired brunch cafe on a busy corner of Chapel Street in South Yarra, sitting above sibling restaurant Yugen Dining within the Capitol Grand building. Reimagined under Stephen Nairn, culinary director of LK Hospitality's South Yarra venues, the space has moved from its original high-tea format into an easy walk-in cafe serving specialty ONA coffee, matcha lattes and an in-house tea range alongside a considered brunch menu. Signature dishes include the Buckwheat Taiyaki, a crispy fish-shaped waffle filled with miso egg and aged cheddar togarashi, and Caramelised Shokupan, toasted Japanese milk bread with caramelised banana, bacon and maple butter, alongside fresh salads and made-to-order sandos. YTB also hosts occasional pop-ups, matcha workshops and afternoon tea events. Open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4pm and weekends from 8am to 4pm.
