The Corner Pantry sits on the corner of Mountain View Road and Quinns Parade, a few kilometres outside Mount Eliza's main township in a quiet, leafy residential pocket near Mount Eliza Regional Park. Owner Craig Vanstone, a hospitality veteran, opened the cafe in late 2018 with an emphasis on bringing the community together, welcoming families, friends and dogs alike. Coffee runs through a custom blend pulled on a matte black La Marzocco machine, with rotating single origins available for anyone after something different. The daytime menu covers breakfast and brunch built around seasonal, creative dishes, with the Pantry Burger, stacked with beef, cheese, pickles, bacon, egg and tomato relish in a brioche bun, a genuine drawcard on the menu. Friday nights shift the format entirely into tapas, running mozzarella, tomato and basil, pulled pork sliders and saganaki alongside an extended burger menu on dedicated burger nights. An outdoor beer garden and indoor kids' corner make it workable for families, and the cafe caters for private functions and offsite catering after hours. Floor-to-ceiling windows and light, bright interiors give the small space an airy feel despite its size. Dinner popup events run periodically, giving the cafe a reason to draw people back beyond the standard breakfast and lunch service.
