Good Gnocchi is a cosy, retro Italian diner on Nicholson Street in Carlton North, led by Archie's All Day founder Anthony Brem alongside Madelene Gay, with interiors by Jimmy Timber of Good Measure. The dark reds and browns of the fit-out, mixing handcrafted hardwood furniture with unique secondhand finds, set a vibrant but casual tone, with seating on the footpath, at the bar and in booths. As the name suggests, the menu centres on gnocchi and pasta, including a popular butter and crispy sage sauce finished with pumpkin puree and pepita pangrattato, alongside light antipasti and comforting mains, matched with fun cocktails and an approachable wine list. It's a relaxed spot for a casual midweek catch-up or a first date over a proper bowl of gnocchi.
