Rosso Coffee Experience is the flagship venue from Ramez Abdulnour, one of Melbourne's third-wave coffee pioneers, who spent years roasting under his Rosso Roasting Co brand and giving informal coffee lessons at his Tullamarine wholesale roastery before opening this dedicated North Melbourne space. Housed in a converted Dryburgh Street warehouse, the venue centres on a long DIY coffee bar, where a barista guides visitors through making their own filter or espresso coffee using everything from high-tech grinders to a simple V60. Free cupping sessions run on weekdays for anyone wanting to taste through single origins without committing to a full lesson. The all-day brunch menu, designed by French-Mauritian chef Michael Berneger, runs globally inspired and seasonal, taking in a hot buttered lobster roll, Middle Eastern fritters and a Huevos Benny finished with brisket and gravy, with vegan and gluten-free options throughout. Rosso pours its own signature espresso blends alongside rotating single origins, and the space also hosts private functions and corporate events. It trades Wednesday to Sunday from 8am to 3pm, with beans roasted on site throughout the day's service. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with plenty of counter seating for solo visitors watching the roaster at work.
