Inspired by the vibrant energy of Japan's izakayas and the character of Brisbane's laneways, the venue has evolved into one of the city's more distinctive private dining and event spaces, with soaring ceilings, two-storey curtains and lantern-lit lighting creating a striking backdrop for celebrations, corporate gatherings and exclusive dinners. Chefs use customary Japanese cooking techniques including robata grilling, steaming and frying to prepare a carefully curated food and cocktail menu, drawing on locally sourced, seasonal produce. Upstairs, the speakeasy-inspired Bar 1603 pairs Japanese minimalism with Brisbane flair, serving craft cocktails with a sake twist by day and night. While now primarily an event venue, Izakaya Público continues to open each morning for breakfast service from 6:30am to 10:30am, available to hotel guests and the public alike.
