Commonfolk began in 2013 inside a renovated warehouse on Mornington's Progress Street, tucked into the town's light industrial zone. The site houses both a working coffee roastery and a cafe seating hundreds across breakfast and lunch, with beans sourced from growers above 1,800 metres in South America and Uganda. The kitchen runs a brunch-focused menu built around Peninsula produce, working with organic and regenerative growers including a family-run farm in Bittern and Balnarring, plus an on-site kitchen garden. Beyond coffee and food, Commonfolk runs barista and brewing courses, and supports growers through The Cup That Counts, an initiative that has returned close to $200,000 to the coffee-growing community. The dog-friendly courtyard and function hosting round out this Mornington roastery and cafe.
