DOC Pizza & Pasta Bar opened on The Esplanade in St Kilda in the Saint Moritz residences, marking DOC Group's first venue with sea views and its seventh restaurant overall, timed to the group's 20th anniversary since first opening on Carlton's Lygon Street in 1997. The menu is divided into Antipasto, Primi and Secondi, reflecting today's Italian dining trends, and includes an ode to seafood in honour of the seaside move, alongside classic pizza and pasta dishes such as the Pizza San Daniele and Spaghetti al Pomodoro. Standout dishes include a campanelle pasta with duck and Montenegro ragu and a beef tagliata, paired with a wine list weighted towards Italian whites and sparkling to suit the seafood-led menu. The 100-seat restaurant has extensive outdoor seating plus counter seats by the open kitchen, looking out across Alfred Square towards St Kilda Beach, and also serves daily house-made gelato for those wanting a lighter option by the water.
