Description

Kata Kita sits at 266 La Trobe Street, at the entrance to Melbourne Central, and is the second Indonesian venture from mother-and-son hospitality duo Lie and Dion Sanusi, following the success of their earlier restaurant Yoi. The name translates to 'together we say', an invitation to relax and enjoy good Indonesian hospitality while working through the menu's plethora of flavours. Kicking things up a notch from Yoi's speedy, hawker-style delights, the kitchen combines traditional recipes with luxe local ingredients, delivering flavour bombs of zesty lemongrass, chilli, aromatic sambal and sweet palm sugar across dishes designed to share with family and friends. Signature offerings include Babi Guling, a five-hour slow-roasted pork coated in Balinese spices, and Bebek Goreng Madura, crispy fried duck topped with a rich, black bumbu hitam sambal. Currently accepting bookings of up to 12 people, Kata Kita is a genuinely flavour-forward option for modern Indonesian dining in the heart of the city.
