Catalina has run from a waterfront site in Lyne Park, Rose Bay, since 1994, opened by Michael and Judy McMahon and now led by their children James and Kate. The seasonal menu is built around sustainably sourced seafood and premium Australian produce, led by executive chef Mark Axisa, who has worked in the kitchen since 2001, alongside head chef Alan O'Keeffe. The wine list is recognised as one of the strongest in Australia. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames sweeping views over Sydney Harbour, with seaplanes landing nearby. The restaurant is fully licensed, with no BYO and no private dining room, and reservations can be made up to three months ahead. Arrival by ferry, taxi or public transport is encouraged given limited nearby parking.
