Fish Shop Bondi

Fish Shop comes from the team behind FISHBOWL, reworking the classic fish and chip shop into what they call a fine-casual concept, with head chef Joel Bennett bringing experience from Peppe's, Bistrode and Three Blue Ducks to the kitchen. The seafood is sourced sustainably and the menu leans Mediterranean and seasonal, built around what's freshest that day, running from daily crudo and coral trout tostadas through to a grilled calamari with fermented chilli, garlic oil and sourdough that has become one of the venue's signature starters. Mains cover classic grilled fish with condiments, seafood pasta and a daily whole fish, while a natural wine list and cocktails round out the drinks side. Fish can also be bought raw to cook at home, spanning ocean trout, salmon, swordfish and ora king salmon alongside Fish Shop's own sauces and condiments. The space itself is fully accessible, with step-free entry and outdoor seating that catches the sun through the day, and diners can also borrow a picnic blanket to take their order to the nearby park or down to Bondi Beach a few blocks away. It suits a relaxed lunch as much as a proper seafood dinner, with dine-in, takeaway and at-home cooking all genuinely catered for.
