Vue de monde is one of Melbourne's landmark fine-dining restaurants, occupying Level 55 of the Rialto at 525 Collins Street in the CBD. Led by Executive Chef Hugh Allen, the restaurant presents a highly structured tasting-menu experience built around Australian produce, native ingredients and a strong sense of place, with expansive views across Melbourne forming part of the setting. The restaurant currently serves one Signature Chef's Tasting Menu. Dinner is offered Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch added from Friday to Sunday. Vue de monde can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian and coeliac menus with advance notice, although the complexity of the multi-course format means some dietary requirements may not be possible. Current recognition places Vue de monde at the top level of Australian dining. The restaurant retained three hats in The Age Good Food Guide 2026, one of only four Victorian restaurants at that level. The Australian Good Food Guide's 2026 awards also list Vue de monde with an 18-point Chef Hat Award. Dining is centred on the progression of the chef's menu rather than à la carte choice. Reservations are released three months in advance, and the main dining room accommodates parties of up to eight, with separate private dining information available for larger groups.
