China Diner Bondi occupies Level 1 of the Pacific Bondi Beach complex on Campbell Parade, moments from the sand. Drawing its design cues from 1930s Shanghai, the restaurant pairs a casual bar and booth area with a more formal dining room for larger groups. The menu spans an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary Chinese and Japanese dishes, from handmade dumplings to seafood, meat and vegan plates, matched against an extensive wine, sake and cocktail list. Every Sunday from midday to 2pm, the restaurant runs a Cantonese-style Yum Cha sitting, with dumplings, barbecue pork buns and crispy spring rolls delivered straight to the table. China Diner also caters private functions, from intimate dinners to larger cocktail-style events, with a balcony overlooking the beachfront strip.
