Crowbar Sydney opened in Leichhardt in 2018 as an addition to the east coast touring circuit alongside its sister venue Crowbar Brisbane, established in 2012. The independent, family-owned venue focuses on supporting artists from the ground up, hosting more than 800 shows a year that range from emerging local and national acts to touring international bands, largely across the punk, metal and hardcore genres. The pub includes a beer garden and multiple spaces for events, with the front bar and venue room available to hire for gigs, private parties or larger functions. As part of its programming, Crowbar also runs a front bar live series and hosts occasional block parties in partnership with neighbouring venues on Norton Street.
