Chocolate Buddha has held a spot in Federation Square for more than two decades, occupying a corner of Melbourne's civic gathering space overlooking Flinders Street and the city skyline. The menu draws on the lively spirit of Japanese izakaya dining, bringing together fresh sushi, bento boxes, ramen and donburi designed to be shared around the table. At the centre of the experience is a bespoke 22-seat sushi and express train, which delivers hot dishes directly to diners on weekends and through school holidays. Outdoor seating stretches across a southern terrace for smaller groups and a western terrace that can hold up to 60 guests under fixed umbrellas, available for hire for functions of up to 100 people.
