Hizola's Kitchen & Bar opened its Fortitude Valley site just around the corner from James Street, expanding the flavour-packed Cantonese concept of Burleigh Heads institution Mr Hizola's, which has traded on the Gold Coast since 2018. Set beneath the M&A Building, the split-level restaurant channels a sleek, moody aesthetic while retaining the group's signature hanging Chinese lanterns and Cantonese-inspired decor. The menu leans on contemporary Cantonese cooking, spanning a share-friendly spread of duck spring rolls, sizzling steak, pork belly char-sui with apple and ginger and a dedicated bao selection, alongside vegan stir fry and other dishes designed to move between the sea, garden and grill. Cocktails such as the Hong Kong Spice bring bold, spiced flavours to match the food, and the venue offers value five-course Chef's Choice and Emperor's Feast set menus.
